Trekker Camp Cot Instructions

Trekker Camp Cot Instructions thumbnail
The cot folds in half for storage.

The Trekker Camp Cot uses a simple design to create a sturdy bed. The cot has a steel frame with a fabric bed, and it comes with a two-handle carry case. The cot is simple to erect, but the fabric is stiff and it may require some muscle to set all the rails in place. The first several attempts are the most difficult and the fabric will stretch slightly over time. Have a friend help if you are having trouble stretching the fabric.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cot from the carry case. Unroll the cot and unfold the halves to extend it to its full length. The middle section has a folding bracket to connect the halves, and no pins or connections are required.

    • 2

Unfold the legs to stand the cot upright. The legs fold flush to the body, collapsing into a narrow line for storage. They unfold by simply pulling the feet down and away from the cot fabric.

    • 3

Locate the hole at each end of one of the end rails. Push the holes in the rail against the knobs on the ends of the long frame rails. The first end rail will attach easily. Repeat the process for the other end rail to complete the assembly. Attaching this second end rail will require some muscle to stretch the fabric and attach the knobs to the holes.

    • 4

Push down on each end of the cot to make sure the legs are stable and completely unfolded. The fabric must be tight and the legs fully unfolded in order for the cot to be effective.

Tips & Warnings

  • Store the cot in a dry area to prevent cycles of stretching and shrinking. Excessive shrinking makes it extremely difficult to assemble.

  • The cot will not support any weight unless the fabric is tight and all of the four corners are connected.
