How to Open Docx in Office 2007
DOCX is the default file format used by newer versions of Microsoft Office Suites such as Office 2007 and Office 2010. The DOCX file format is completely different from the DOC file format used by older Office Suites. Because Office 2007 supports the DOCX file format by default, you do not need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack to open DOCX files in Office 2007.

Open Word 2007 by clicking "Start," "All Programs," "Microsoft Office" and "Microsoft Word 2007."

Click the circular button over the Office ribbon on the Word 2007 window.

Click the option labeled "Open."

Go to the location of the DOCX file that you want to open and click on it.

Click "Open" to open the DOCX file in Word 2007.
