For those who bake a lot, every now and then you may come across an old opened bag of baking mix or flour in the pantry that is probably not good to use. Dry mixes have a long shelf life until the packages are opened and exposed to the air. If you make a lot of muffins often, it may be a good idea to keep your muffin mix in the freezer to extend its shelf life.   • Freeezer bags
  • Air-tight plastic container

Instructions

      Measure out the muffin mix into even amounts based on how many muffins you would normally make at one time.

      Place the measured-out portions of muffin mix into large, resealable freezer bags.

      Place the freezer bags of muffin mix into an airtight plastic container and label it.

      Retrieve individual bags of muffin mix whenever you need them.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also prepare muffin batter and freeze it in the muffin tins until you are ready to use it. Because of the uncooked eggs, however, it is best to bake the batter within 1 to 2 days.
