How to Download Microsoft PowerPoint Onto a Computer

You can use PowerPoint to assist almost any presentation.

If you have a big presentation at work or school, you may be considering usuing visual assistance from Microsoft PowerPoint. Many people use this presentation software to make electronic slideshows for use offices, classrooms or wherever else they can set up a computer and a projector. You can also use it to create print documents like calendars, certificates and flyers. Microsoft sells PowerPoint in a package with other Microsoft Office programs like Word and Excel, but you can download it separately if desired.

Instructions

1. Go to office.Microsoft.com to purchase PowerPoint and any other Office programs directly from Microsoft.

2. Click the "Products" tab and then click "Buy Office today."

3. Scroll down the page and find the "PowerPoint" section if you would like to purchase PowerPoint separately from an Office Suite. Select the "Buy now" link in this section.

4. Click "Continue" to confirm what you would like to purchase. You can add a back-up DVD to your download for an additional cost.

5. Sign in to your Microsoft account or create a new one by clicking the appropriate buttons and following the prompts on-screen. Make sure your account has your current email address.

6. Complete your purchase by providing billing information when prompted and confirming your order.

7. Open your email inbox and find a purchase receipt email from Microsoft. Look for a "Download Link" and a "Product Key."

8. Click the "Download Link" in the email and follow the download prompts on-screen to install PowerPoint.

9. Provide the Product Key found in your email receipt when prompted in order to activate and use your PowerPoint software.
