How to Change the Combination on a Samsonite

You must know the original combination to set a new one on a Samsonite briefcase.

A locking briefcase can only serve its function if it secures the items within it. If your Samsonite briefcase's lock combination is known to everyone in your family or your coworkers, or if you're just tired of using the default 0-0-0 combination that the luggage manufacturer uses as its factory-set default, changing your combination is a snap if you know the current combination.

Instructions

1. Open the briefcase using the old combination, or if you purchased it new, 0-0-0 on both clasps. Leave the briefcase open and unlocked.

2. Press the unlock button toward the combination dial and hold it without releasing it. If your briefcase unlatches using a lever, depress it and hold it. Work on one lock at a time.

3. Select a combination that will be easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess.

4. Dial the new combination into the lock while keeping the latch-release button or level held open.

5. Release the catch mechanism when you arrive at the new combination. The lock will reset itself to use your new combination.
