Most computers come with the latest version of Internet Explorer already installed. At the time of publication, the latest version is Internet Explorer 9. If your computer has an older version of Internet Explorer, it's possible to download the newest browser from the Microsoft website. Internet Explorer is free, and the installation process takes just a few minutes. As soon as the browser is installed, you're ready to get online and begin visiting websites.

Instructions

1. Go to Microsoft.com, and click on "Downloads" at the top of the page.

2. Click "Internet Explorer Downloads." Under "Windows Internet Explorer 9," on the right side of the screen, click "Download Now."

3. Click on the drop-down menu to select your version of Windows. Click "Download now" and then "Save file."

4. Double-click the "Internet Explorer" icon when the download stops. The installation setup window appears. Click through the screens to choose your desired settings and complete installation.
