1
Separate a section of locks that you'd like to braid together from the rest of your hair. For example, if you want to make two braids, divide your locks into two large sections.
-
2
Take on section of the locks and divide into three mini-sections. Hold them so that there is a mini-section on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right.

3
Cross the mini-section on the left over the one in the middle. Now, there are still three mini-sections. They've only been rearranged. Cross the mini-section on the right over the one that is now in the middle. Repeat this pattern until you've formed a braid down the length of the hair.

4
Secure the braid with an elastic hair band and then move on to another section of locks. Divide the section into three mini-sections and repeat the process.
