Oil-based Goo Gone helps remove sticky residue and products like lipstick, grease, gum or tar. It is an industrial solution to remove even the stickiest of materials from fabric. According to the Goo Gone manufacturer, Goo Gone is safe for nearly any surface including clothing. If left on too long, Goo Gone can leave oily stains on fabric.       Apply several drops of acetone to a strip of dry cloth. Dab the rag lightly on the Goo Gone stain, being sure not to rub it vigorously. Rinse the stain with isopropyl alcohol using a small eyedropper. Let dry.

      Wash the garment in hot water and allow it to air dry. Repeat this process until the stain is reduced or removed.

      Pour 1/8 cup of liquid bleach directly onto the Goo Gone stain and let sit for two to three minutes before washing it off with cool water.

      Soak the garment in 1 cup of baking soda dissolved in 1 gallon of warm water. Rinse and repeat until the stain is gone.
