How to Create a Public Dropbox

Dropbox is a file storage and syncing service, allowing you to access files from a number of different computers and mobile devices. Changes are automatically uploaded to Dropbox and synced among your other instances of Dropbox. Each new installation of Dropbox includes a public folder that allows you to upload files and obtain a URL to share the files with others, even if they do not have a Dropbox account. If you've deleted the public folder, you can easily re-create it with the same sharing functionality.

Instructions

1. Navigate to your main Dropbox folder via Windows Explorer or Mac Finder.

2. Select "File" and "New Folder."

3. Name the new folder "Public." Dropbox will immediately recognize this as the public folder included in your Dropbox by default and grant public folder privileges (public URLs for each file in the folder).

Tips & Warnings

• You can also complete this task via the Dropbox website. Log in to Dropbox.com, select the "Files" tab, click "New Folder," and name the folder "Public."
