How to See Friend Requests You Have Sent on Facebook

How to See Friend Requests You Have Sent on Facebook thumbnail
Facebook allows both businesses and individuals to network.

As Facebook increases its privacy features, it is less likely that you will be able to see another user's page without officially becoming her friend. After you send someone a friend request, she has an infinite amount of time to either deny or accept it. While you cannot see a complete list of all outstanding friend requests on Facebook, a visit to a user's page will let you know if the request is still pending.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the profile page of the person to whom you sent a friend request. Find the page by typing the potential friend's name in the search field at the top of any Facebook screen or by clicking on her name and thumbnail image on a mutual friend's page.

    • 2

Look to the right of the person's name to see the status of your request. If you see "Awaiting friend confirmation," the request has not yet been approved. If you can see the user's full profile, and no icon with a message about the friend request appears next to her name, she has approved your request and should now appear on your friend list.

    • 3

Cancel a friend request by clicking the "Cancel Friend Request" link on the left side of the user's page, just under the list of her friends.

Tips & Warnings

  • Facebook will send you a notification when someone approves your friend request.
