How to Configure uTorrent With Tor Proxy

The Tor project provides a different kind of anonymity on the Internet known as onion routing. Using Tor, any message you send through the network becomes encrypted and passes through many different computers before reaching the destination as an unencrypted packet. You may configure almost any proxy-supporting application, including uTorrent, to use a Tor proxy.

Step 1

Click "Start," "All Programs" and "uTorrent" to open the program.

Click "Options" in the top menu and click "Preferences."

Step 3

Click "Connection" on the left menu. Select "Socks5" as "Type" under "Proxy Server."

Type "localhost" under "Proxy" and "9050" as the port.

Step 5

Click "Apply" and "OK."
