Clorox bleach is a product with many uses, one of which is disinfecting. According to the Clorox website, it will kill bacteria, viruses and fungi, along with a host of other organisms. Do not use Clorox undiluted, and it can be dangerous if used inappropriately. Disinfect your kitchen, bathroom, your child's toys and a variety of other surfaces around the home with Clorox bleach and allow the items to air-dry. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

  1. Kitchen

    • 1

      Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water and 1 tbsp. of Clorox. Soak plastic cutting boards, baby bottles and sippy cups in the solution for two minutes, then rinse well.

      Combine 3 tbsp. of Clorox with 1 gallon of water into a bucket. Pour the mixture over wooden cutting boards in the sink. Let them sit for two minutes, then rinse well.

      Wipe clean countertops, floors, sinks, faucets, trash cans, kid's high chairs and appliances with ¾ cup Cloox and 1 gallon of water mixed in a bucket. Let the Clorox sit for five minutes, then rinse with a clean rag. Only use Clorox on nonporous surfaces.

      Disinfect your garbage disposal by pouring ¾ cup of Clorox down the drain. Turn the disposal on and run water as you pour. Let the disposal run for 20 seconds.

    Bathroom

      Pour 1 cup of Clorox bleach into your toilet bowl. Use a toilet brush to scrub the toilet. Let the bleach sit in the bowl for 10 minutes, then flush the toilet.

      Mix ¾ cup Clorox in a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Use a mop or rag to wipe down clean bathtubs, sinks, faucets and tiled surfaces, then rinse the surfaces.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep Clorox bleach out of reach of children.

  • Wear rubber gloves and work in a well-ventilated area when using bleach.

  • Never mix bleach and ammonia or products containing these ingredients; the results can be fatal.

  • Mix a fresh batch of bleach and water solution each time you need it. Avoid storing a bleach solution since the bleach breaks down into salt and water after an extended period of time.
