Frog legs are eaten in many different cultures, although they are traditionally known to be Creole or French food. Frog meat is known to absorb the flavors it is cooked with and take on whatever strong flavors it is seasoned with. Because of this, the seasonings that you choose when cooking frog legs will play an important role in the way the meat tastes once it is cooked. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Raw frog legs
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Lemon
  • Medium saucepan
  • Butter
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Parsley
  • Chile paste

Instructions

    • 1

      Rinse the frog legs you are going to cook using warm water. Pat dry and set aside.

      Mix the seasonings together in a bowl. Combine 1/2 cup of flour, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp. of black pepper, 1 tsp. of garlic salt and 1 tsp. of chile paste. Set the bowl aside.

      Combine 1/3 cup of butter, 1/4 cup of chopped onion, 1/4 cup of diced tomatoes and one minced clove of garlic in a medium saucepan. Heat on medium for approximately two minutes or until the butter is slightly simmering.

      Roll the frog legs in the flour mixture and make sure the frog legs are completely covered in the mixture. Place the coated frog legs in the saucepan until the bottom of the saucepan is covered in a single layer of frog legs.

      Sear the frog legs for approximately three minutes and then flip over and sear the other side for three minutes as well. Remove from heat, allow to cool and enjoy. If there is leftover sauce in the pan, you may want to dump it onto the frog legs for added flavor.
