How to Install Adobe Flash Player in Mozilla Firefox

Adobe's Flash plug-in allows Web developers to create games, media and applications without needing to worry about the hardware configurations of individual computers. Flash also prevents the end user -- you -- from worrying about memory size and other hardware. If your computer meets the requirements to run Flash, it meets the requirements to run all of its media applications. Firefox doesn't include Flash in its basic setup, but the Web browser prompts you to install the application as soon as you access a website that requires it.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Firefox and visit Adobe's Flash Player webpage. A yellow bar appears underneath Firefox's toolbars at the top of the screen. Click the "Install Missing Plugins" button in the yellow bar.

    • 2

Check the box in the window that pops up. The text next to the box reads "Adobe Flash Player," followed by the version number of the installation. Click the "Next" button.

    • 3

Agree to Adobe's license agreement, then click "Next." Adobe's Flash Player Installer pops up in a new window.

    • 4

Confirm that you've agreed to the license agreement, then click the "Install" button. Click "Done" after Adobe's Flash Player Installer completes its installation.

    • 5

Click the "Finish" button in the Firefox plugin window. Restart Firefox to enable Flash the Flash Player.

Tips & Warnings

  • Downloading and installing the Flash Player program from Adobe also installs the application in Firefox and any other supported Web browsers on your computer.

  • You can also install the Flash Plugin from the prompt that Firefox gives you when you visit a Flash website.
