Changing your WebSphere MQ password is easy.

WebSphere MQ is a messaging server that allows you to share information and access information posted by other users across many platforms. WebSphere MQ accomplishes this through the integration of new and existing business applications available in 2011. It can be used with both IBM and non-IBM platforms. Changing the password for WebSphere MQ is not that difficult and can be accomplished in three easy ways.

Instructions

    • 1

Change the password in the WebSphere MQ system by using the Web browser. You can start the WebSphere browser by selecting the WebSphere browser from the Start menu from your desktop. Select the WebSphere browser from the WebSphere program suite. In the WebSphere Workflow browser, access the file menu option and click on the "Settings" tab. Then select "Change Password."

Access your run-time WebSphere Client from the start menu. The WebSphere MQ runtime client can change your password as well. Once you have accessed your client, right click in the "Tree View" window. Select the "SystemGroup/System UserId:" from the context menu. Under the "User Information" window select the "User General" tab and enter your new password in the "Password New/Verify" option.

Open your Administration Utility tool from the Start menu. This tool is another option that gives you the ability to change your password. Log on to the Administration Utility using your user ID and password. Once you get past the standard log on text, enter "U" in the DOS prompt to select the "User Commands Menu." In the user commands menu, select "P" and the new password prompt will be displayed. Enter your new password and press enter.
