How to Keep Frozen Hamburger Patties From Sticking Together thumbnail
Frozen hamburger patties produce juicy burgers.

Freezing premade hamburger patties makes meal preparation quick and simple. You can place a frozen hamburger patty directly onto a hot frying pan and have it ready within five minutes. However, if your hamburger patties stick together when they freeze, it cuts down on quick meal preparation. By the time you get them apart, chances are you will have broken the patty into several pieces. You can keep frozen hamburger patties from sticking together with the use of wax paper to make each meal convenient. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Cut sheets of wax paper to roughly the same size as the hamburger patties you would like to freeze. You will need twice as many sheets of wax paper as you have hamburger patties. For example, if you have 24 hamburger patties, cut 48 sheets of wax paper.

    • 2

Place one sheet of wax paper onto a working surface and lay a hamburger patty on top of it. Place a second sheet of wax paper over the top of the hamburger patty. Set the hamburger patty into a freezer bag, lying flat so more can be stacked on top.

    • 3

Continue covering both sides of the hamburger patties with wax paper and placing them into the freezer bag. If you fill up the first freezer bag, press all the air out of it, seal it and begin filling up a second.

    • 4

Place the bags into the freezer and use within six months to avoid freezer burn.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use plastic wrap instead of wax paper, it sinks into small nooks and is difficult to pull off when you need to use the patties.
