How to Make a Black Wallet Out of Duct Tape
Duct tape is one of the most versatile tools found in the American home. From temporary fixes to more permanent solutions, duct tape can be used in variety of ways. Crafters have also adopted duct tape as tool for a number of creations. From purses to prom dresses, duct can be used to create simple or extravagant projects. The duct tape wallet is one of the easiest crafts to create.
Things You'll Need
- A roll of black duct tape
- Scissors or craft knife
- Ruler
- Dollar bill
- Credit or business card
Instructions

1
Create a sheet of duct tape by overlapping two or three strips of duct tape. Each strip should be roughly 8 inches long to allow room for cutting and errors. For sturdy construction, make sure to overlap at least 1/2 inch.
-
2
Using the dollar bill as a guide, trim the overlapping strips so they are slightly larger than the bill. There should be roughly 1/4 to 1/3 inch exposed edge of duct tape surrounding the dollar bill on all four sides.

-
3
Flip the set of strips over and apply a second set to the back side of your first sheet. Adhere the sticky sides together. Overlap the edges of your first side by 1/2 inch.
-
4
Trim the corners of the exposed sticky surface at a 45 degree angle then fold the 1/2-inch edges down to seal the duct tape sheet.
-
5
Repeat steps 1 through 4 to create a second sheet of duct tape that is slightly smaller than the first. Using the second sheet, fold the top 1/2-inch edge down, but use the side and bottom edges to adhere the first and second sheet of duct tape together, forming a pocket large enough to hold a dollar bill when open.
-
6
To add business card or credit card pockets, repeat steps 1-4, using a card as a guide for height rather than a dollar bill to create a third and fourth sheet of duct tape.
-
7
Adhere the second, smaller pocket in the same manner as Step 5, using the exposed sticky edges to join the two pockets together.
