Can You Hook Up a VCR to a Cox Cable Box?

With a VCR connected to a Cox cable box, you can record any television show or movie that is playing on cable, or play your favorite VHS tapes without having to change the input settings of your television. When the VCR is properly installed with the cable box, it behaves as a middle-man between the cable box and the television; all cable signals must reach the television through the VCR. You can complete the process for connecting the VCR in a few steps.

• 3 coaxial cables

Instructions

1. Insert one coaxial cable into the cable outlet on the wall. Connect that same coaxial cable into the "Cable In" port on the back of the Cox cable box.

2. Connect a second coaxial cable into the "Cable Out" port on the back of the Cox cable box. Connect that same coaxial cable into the "Cable In" port on the back of the VCR.

3. Plug the third coaxial cable into the "Cable Out" port on the back of the VCR. Connect that same coaxial cable into the "ANT/Cable In" port on the back of the television.
