How to Export Favorites in Internet Explorer 8

Like all Internet Browsers, Internet Explorer 8 includes a bookmark section, referred to as "Favorites," which keeps a list of your saved Web pages for one-click access. The "Favorites" toolbar includes several bookmark management features, such as the ability to organize favorites, create new folders and even export favorites to a new location on your computer. The export tool effectively lets you back up your entire list of favorites, saving it to any location on your PC.

Instructions

      Open Internet Explorer 8.

      Click "Favorites" to view the favorites management pane. If you do not see "Favorites" right-click an empty space on the top of the browser and click "Favorites Bar."

      Click the arrow to the right of the "Add to Favorites" button, located on the top of the "Favorites" pane. A list appears below.

      Click "Import and Export" to open the "Import/Export" wizard.

      Choose "Export to a File" from the list of options and click "Next" to move to a new prompt.

      Choose "Favorites" from the "What would you like to export" prompt and click "Next."

      Click the "Favorites" folder. You can also click a "Favorites" sub-folder if you do not want to export all of your favorites. Click "Next."

      Click "Browse" and select an export location for your favorites. Click "Next." Click "Finish."
