How to Open URL Files in Quicktime

QuickTime is the default media player on Mac computers. It is also installed on Windows computers with iTunes. QuickTime is the software that provides the media playback capability when you play a song or video on your hard drive using iTunes. However, you can also use QuickTime to play streaming media from the Internet. If QuickTime does not launch automatically when you click a media link in your Web browser, you can open the URL manually from within QuickTime.

      Open the "File" menu at the top of the QuickTime window, and select "Open URL." A new window titled "Open URL" appears.
