Instructions

    • 1

Find a local grocer or butcher that sells frog legs. Many grocery stores that have butchers will have frog legs available in stock and you just need to ask for them as they are not often on display. If you have a local natural grocer, they may also carry frog legs.

    • 2

Clean the frog legs by rinsing with warm water. If they're frozen, place them in a bowl of warm water to thaw. Pat dry and set aside.

    • 3

Choose the seasonings you want to sear the frog legs with. Frog legs taste great with Cajun or Creole seasonings.

    • 4

Choose a large saucepan and heat ¼ cup of butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the seasonings. Squeeze 1/2 of the lemon into the butter and add 1/8 cup chopped onion, a pinch of salt and pepper and ¼ cup diced tomato. Increase the heat to high and allow to stew for 60 seconds.

    • 5

Add the frog legs, placing them in the pan evenly and only placing enough frog legs to cover the pan. Make sure that no frog legs are stacked on any other frog legs and every frog leg is getting direct contact on one side with the butter and seasoning.

    • 6

Flip the frog legs over after two minutes of searing and allow the other side to sear for two minutes as well.

    • 7

Carefully remove the frog legs from the pan and place on a plate over toasted thin bread (this allows the bread to absorb some of the butter and seasoning). The frog meat will fall off the bones easily.
