How to Remove Programs Permanently
Depending on the size of your computer's memory, it can get bogged down by all of the programs that installed on the hard drive, some of which you may not even use anymore. Uninstalling and removing programs from your computer is easy and will free up space on your computer, allowing your computer to run faster and giving you the freedom to install new programs.

Removing Programs on a PC

Click on the "Start" button and then click on "Control Panel." If you are using Windows XP, click on "Add or Remove Programs." If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click on "Uninstall a Program" under the "Programs" heading. A window appears containing a list of all of the programs installed on your computer's hard drive.

Scroll through the alphabetical list of programs installed on your computer's hard drive. Click on the program you wish to remove once with your mouse. If you are using Windows XP, click on the "Change/Remove" button. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click on the "Uninstall" button at the top of the list.

Click on the "OK" button that pops up when the program is removed, if one appears. If one doesn't appear, scroll through the alphabetical list of programs and look for the program you just tried to remove. If you don't see it listed, then the removal was successful.
Removing Programs on a Mac

Click on the "Finder" icon on the bottom of your computer's desktop. Under "Places" click on "Application." You will then see a complete alphabetical list of all of the programs installed on your computer's hard drive.

Scroll through the alphabetical list of programs installed on your computer's hard drive. Click on the program you wish to remove once with your mouse and then click on the "Move to Trash" icon.

Click on the "Trash" icon on your computer's desktop. The trash will open up and show you all of the items in it. Click on the "Empty" button to completely remove the program from your computer.
