How to Set Goals and Motivation
If you want to succeed in life, love or business, you will need to establish some goals. Goals are your road map for success and provide you with a target. Motivation is what helps you to stay on track with your goals and do the daily work required to meet or exceed them. Building your motivation and goals is a challenge, but one that is usually worth the effort.

1
Set a short, medium and long-term goal. A strong technique for doing this is setting a one-year, five-year and ten-year goal.
-
2
Verify that your goals support one another. Your one-year goal should naturally contribute to your five-year goal, which should contribute to your ten-year goal. For instance, if you want to go back to college and finish in the next five years, your first year goal could be completing your freshman studies.

Break your short-term goal into small chunks that can be easily accomplished. If your goal is making an extra $12,000 this year, that's $1,000 per month or $250 per week, which translates into finding an extra $50 per workday. When you have small, realistic goals you can tackle each week, you will succeed better at meeting your larger goals.

4
Stay positive. Approaching each day with a positive attitude and thinking about what you can accomplish to forward your goals is one of the best methods for keeping yourself motivated.
-
5
Adopt a personal mantra that you can say to yourself each day to find internal motivation. Something as simple as "Today I am going to do the best work I possibly can," goes a long way towards keeping you on track.
-
6
Focus on the benefits of meeting your goals, whether they are a better family life, more income, or a more interesting job. Sometimes reminding yourself of why you set goals in the first place can give you the extra kick you need to plunge into the day's work.
