You can bid on used clothing for children online.

When it comes to purchasing children's clothing, it can often seem like a waste to overspend on new items all the time. Kids' tastes and sizes change countless times as they grow older. Purchasing used clothing for children is not only more budget friendly, it can also allow kids to dress more creatively and find clothes that may not be available elsewhere. Online auction sites are the perfect place to find unique used clothing for a bargain.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your internet browser. Navigate to ebay.com, or bidville.com.

    • 2

Select "Register" from the top of the page, and create an account with the site.

    • 3

From the site's category drop down menu, select "Clothing" or "Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories."

    • 4

In the search bar beside the category menu, type in your key words. For example, you can type in "babydoll dress" or "jeans." Click the "Search" button once your key words have been entered.

    • 5

Select a subcategory on the new page. Next to your search results, is a new "Category" list. Select the type of clothing that you are looking for, such as "Girls Clothing" "Boys Clothing" or "Infant Clothing." This will narrow the results down even more.

    • 6

Sort the search results. The auctions that are ending the soonest will automatically appear at the top of the page. By clicking on the drop down menu next to "Sort By" you can view them by other options, such as lowest shipping price.

    • 7

Scroll through the search results, and find an item that you would like to bid on. Click on it.

    • 8

Check to see that the shipping prices are within your budget before placing a bid. This can be seen at the top of the page underneath the bidding box. Shipping prices are usually not negotiable once an item has been won.

    • 9

Type your bid into the "Bid Now" box. Your bid must be above the current maximum bid. You are placing your "highest maximum bid", which means that your bid will only be one dollar more than the current bid, but the system will continue to bid for you against others up until your maximum bid has been reached.

    • 10

Press "Place Bid" and continue to confirm your bid.

    • 11

You will receive an email letting you know if you have been outbid on the item. In this case you can return to the item's page and place a new bid.
