How to Highlight and Copy on a Kindle

With conventional books, magazines and newspapers, you can highlight selected passages while reading. Although you can't use a highlighter on a Kindle, you can mark passages and have the Kindle automatically store them for later review by accessing the "My Notes & Marks" section of the Kindle's menu. You can do this for any e-book or digital periodical stored on your Kindle.

Instructions

    • 1

Tap the five-way controller in any direction to bring the cursor up on the screen.

    • 2

Position the cursor at the beginning of the passage you want to highlight and copy. Click the five-way controller.

    • 3

Move the cursor to the end of the passage. You can use the "Next Page" button if necessary. Click the five-way controller again. The selected passage will now be highlighted on your Kindle and a copy will be stored in the "My Notes & Marks" folder.
