Web browsers save data from sites you regularly visit. The compilation of this information is known as cache or the browsing history. Internet Explorer 8 is a Web browser that was created by Microsoft. It allows you to view websites you have previously visited with greater convenience. Internet Explorer 8 also gives you the option to search the cache files by date, site, most visited and keywords.

Instructions

      Navigate to the "Start" menu. Click "All Programs" and "Internet Explorer 8." This will launch Internet Explorer 8.

      Go to the top of the Window, click the "Favorites" button and click the "History" tab. Internet Explorer 8 sorts the history by date by default. Change how you want to sort the history from the drop-down menu below the "History" tab.

      Search for history files manually. Internet Explorer 8 also gives you the option to search the history by using keywords. To do this, select the "Search History" option from the drop-down menu. Type the keyword related to the website you are searching for and click "Search Now."
