How to Extract Files From a Zip Folder
For an effective method of compressing files, put them in a zip file. The compression process stores the information in a smaller, compressed zip file in a folder that takes up less space on the computer's hard drive. Both Mac and PC operating systems have built-in programs that allow you to extract and decompress a file from a zip folder simply by double-clicking on it. This process takes from one to several minutes to complete, depending on the size of the file.
