How to Use Excel to Convert Decimals to Fractions
If you stick with default settings, you are unlikely to ever see a fraction in Microsoft Excel. However, Excel offers many selectable number formats, such as currency, percentages and even fractions. By selecting fractions as the format, you can use Microsoft Excel to easily convert decimals into fractions. You can even select the precision of the displayed fraction, such as single or even triple-digit fractions.

Open Microsoft Excel.

Enter a decimal number into any cell, such as A1.

Right-click the cell which contains the decimal number and select "Format Cells."

Click the "Number" tab of the "Format Cells" window.

Click "Fraction" in the "Category" list of the "Number" tab.

Select the format type in the "Type" section, such as "Up to one digit" or "Up to three digits," and press "OK" to convert the decimal into a fraction.
