Prep 7200 Paper Folder Instructions

Martin-Yale's Prep 7200 is an automatic paper folder for medium-duty office and commercial use. It folds standard 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch or A4 paper in four different folds at a speed of 4,000 sheets-per-hour. The Prep 7200 can accommodate 16 pound to 28-pound bond paper, folding one sheet at at time automatically or up to three sheets manually. It comes factory preset to tri-fold a 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper for a standard business envelope. By configuring the two fold tables, additional folds such as a half-fold, z-fold and parallel fold can also be made.

Instructions

Aligning the Paper Guides

1. Loosen the four thumbscrews under the feed table to release the paper guides.

2. Move the paper guides in until their inside edges line up with the "LS" marks on the feed table for 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch paper. For A4 paper, align the outside edges of the paper with the "A4" marks on the feed table.

3. Slide a piece of paper between the guides and check for pinching and skewing. Loosen the thumbscrews and adjust, as necessary.

Double Fold Operation

1. Loosen the locking knobs on both fold tables to release the paper stops. Locate the icons on the fold table rulers that represent the desired type of fold.

2. Move the paper stops until they align with the arrows next to the icons representing the desired fold.

3. Tighten the paper stop locking knobs.

Half-Fold Operation

1. Lift up and pull out the back fold table from the machine.

2. Reverse the back table so that the locking knobs are now facing up.

3. Slide the back table into the machine with the closed end first. Make sure the locking knobs still face up.

Auto-feeding Single Sheets

1. Square up a 50-sheet stack of paper by tapping it on all sides on a flat surface.

2. Load the paper stack into the feed table so the top sheet of paper is in contact with the black feed tire.

3. Turn the Prep 7200 on at the power switch.

Manually Feeding Multiple Sheets

1. Remove all paper from the paper feed table.

2. Individually feed paper sets containing up to three sheets by first squaring the paper against a flat surface.

3. Place the first paper set into the manual feed slot on top of the machine -- not the feed table.

4. Turn the machine to the momentary on position represented by the "II" icon on the main power rocker switch. Hold the switch down until the folded paper set exits the machine. Repeat procedure for every set of paper.

Paper Jams

1. Unplug the machine. Try to clear the jam by removing one of the fold tables first.

2. Use a small flat screwdriver to turn the folding rollers through the access hole on the left side of the folder until the paper emerges from the folder.

3. Remove the plastic top cover of the machine, if necessary, to remove paper.
