How to Search for Your Classmates on Facebook

Facebook makes it possible to connect with classmates from your past.

Facebook offers many different tools for connecting people from all walks of life, including relatives, co-workers and friends. With some basic profile information, users can also locate and connect with classmates from college, high school and even grade school. Whether you're searching through existing friends or looking to connect with new ones, you can easily search for classmates in a few quick steps.

Instructions

Classmates Who Are Your Facebook Friends

1. Log on to your Facebook account and navigate to your profile page.

2. Click on "Friends," which is located in the left column.

3. Click on the drop-down box labeled "Search By Name" and choose the option to "Search By School."

4. Begin typing the name of the school and choose it from the list below.

5. Scroll through the friend list for familiar faces and names.

Classmates Who Are Not Your Facebook Friends

1. Log on to your Facebook account and navigate to your home page.

2. Click on "Friends," which is located in the left column.

3. Locate the option for "Other Tools" and click the "Find Friends" link.

4. Choose the link that lists the school whose students you're in search of.

5. Scroll through the friend list for familiar faces and names.

• To search for classmates, you must list at least one school in your profile information under the "Education And Work" section.
