Making espresso used to mean measuring out precise ratios of coffee and water, grinding coffee to just the right degree of coarseness and operating a notoriously temperamental machine. Espresso pods --- pre-portioned, pre-ground, and pre-measured single-use espresso packets --- make the process of brewing espresso quick and easy, and they come in several roast styles. Instructions

    • 1

      Check your espresso machine or its manual to find out if it is compatible with pods; if so, it will be identified as an Easy Serving Espresso machine, often with a circular E.S.E. logo.

      Twist the handle on the espresso filter holder to the left or right, depending on your machine, to remove the filter holder.

    • 3

      Place an espresso pod of your choice in the filter holder.

    • 4

      Reattach the filter holder to the espresso machine and fill the water chamber.

    • 5

      Turn on the espresso machine on and brew an espresso.

Tips & Warnings

  • The espresso will be very hot after being brewed. Be careful not to drop or spill it.
