How to Reboot My Time Warner Cable Box

Time Warner's cable boxes allow you to view the cable channels offered in Time Warner's services. Occasionally, it is possible that you may run into problems with your box, such as freezing images or audio issues. One way to try and fix these issues yourself is to reboot the box. Fortunately, there are two simple ways for you to reboot a Time Warner cable box.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the box off (if it is not already off).

    • 2

Unplug the main power cord from the electrical socket or surge protector and wait for around 30 seconds.

    • 3

Plug the cable box back in, but do not turn the box on. Wait for around two to four minutes.

    • 4

Watch for the time to reappear on the box's display. When it does, turn the box back on.

Reboot Using the Box's Front Panel

    • 5

Press and hold the "Vol+," "Vol-" and "Info" buttons on the box's front panel.

    • 6

Wait for the box to begin to reboot, then let "Vol+," "Vol-" and "Info" go.

    • 7

Wait for the time to reappear on the box's display. When it does, press the power button to turn it back on.
