How to Store Iced Sugar Cookies
Iced sugar cookies keep in the refrigerator for days and in the freezer for months. When placing cookies in a storage container, arrange them properly to ensure the best-looking and best-tasting cookies. Does this Spark an idea?

- Baking sheet
- Plastic storage container with an airtight lid
- Wax or parchment paper
- Masking or freezer tape

Allow the iced sugar cookies to cool completely before storing them. Arrange the cookies in a single layer on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer, uncovered, for two hours so the icing hardens and sets.

Remove the baking sheet from the freezer. Arrange one layer of iced cookies on the bottom of a plastic storage container. Place a piece of wax or parchment paper on top of the first layer of cookies and arrange a second layer on top. Continue layering the paper and cookies until you reach within 1 inch of the top of the container.

Press an airtight lid onto the storage container to create a secure, moisture-free seal.

Write the storage date on a piece of masking or freezer tape and place it on the container as a convenient reminder.

Store the cookies in a refrigerator for up to five days and in a freezer for up to 12 months; eat the cookies before 6 months for the best taste. Thaw the cookies at room temperature.
