How to Clean Leather Bands

Clean your leather watch with homemade cleaner.

Leather watch bands are common and traditional, providing a strong and durable option that is also attractive. To keep the watch looking its best, you must clean the leather regularly. This keeps loose dust off of the band, and by adding a leather conditioner, you can prevent the leather from becoming dull, due to lack of moisture.

Things You'll Need

• Bowl
• Linseed oil
• White vinegar
• Cleaning rag
• Toothpick
• Cotton swab

Instructions

1. Mix 1 tsp. linseed oil with 1/2 tsp. white vinegar in a bowl.

2. Dip a cleaning rag into the mixture, squeeze out excess and wipe across the leather band. The white vinegar cleans, while the oil moisturizes.

3. Clean small holes and crevices with a toothpick or cotton swab. Allow the band to air dry.

4. Follow up with a cleaning rag, buffing the band in small circular motions, to remove excess cleaning solution.
