How to Remove and Erase a Contact From an iPhone

Remove and erase contacts that you no longer need to keep your iPhone's contacts list up-to-date with current information and phone numbers. This will help keep your phone book filled with only relevant information. Deleting a contact from your iPhone will completely erase the contact's information from the device.

Instructions

      Tap the "Phone" icon on your iPhone toolbar.

      Select "Contacts" from the options at the bottom of the screen. Your contact list will appear.

      Scroll to the contact that you want to remove. Tap the contact. The contact's "Info" page will load to your screen.

      Tap the "Edit" button in the top-right corner of the screen.

      Scroll to the bottom of the page. Tap the red "Delete Contact" button. A confirmation appear will appear. Select "Delete Contact" to remove the contact. Select "Cancel" to cancel the deletion.
