How to Make Ice Cream by Hand
Ice cream is a much loved dessert that has been a sweet tooth staple for many years. Conveniently, ice cream is easy to make by hand with some basic items and ingredients that you most likely already have in your kitchen. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 pint-size resealable bag
- 1 gallon-size resealable bag
- 6 tbsp. rock salt
- Ice
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Pour the milk, sugar and vanilla into the pint-size resealable bag. Seal the bag completely and mix the ingredients around.

Add enough ice to the gallon-size bag to fill it half full, then pour in the rock salt.

Place the smaller bag into the larger bag and seal the larger bag completely.

Shake the bags gently until the ice cream has frozen to your preference. Normally, this will take around five minutes to happen.

Tips & Warnings
Add tsp. of chocolate syrup to make chocolate ice cream. Sliced or crushed strawberries can be tossed in to make strawberry ice cream.
Handle the bags carefully while you are shaking them, so that neither bag will break open.
