How to Use a Minidisc Player
The MiniDisc player is a portable electronic device manufactured by Sony that plays a small disc using the Hi-HD format. To use the MiniDisc player for the first time you need to know how to play a disc on the device. Songs that are stored on a disc are also searchable on the device. When accessing options, a beep sound is heard through the headphones. You will use buttons on the device when making various selections.

Playing a Disc

Slide the latch on the top of the MiniDisc player and then pull to open the lid.

Insert a disc into the device with the label facing forward. Close the lid.

Plug the small end of the headphones into the headphone jack.

Press the "(>ENT)" button and you will hear a beep sound from the headphones.

Press control pad towards "Vol +" or "Vol -" to adjust the sound level.
Search for Music Track

Press the "Nav/Menu" button to enter the main menu.

Select the option for "Useful Search."

Turn the "Jog Dial," which is to the right of the (>ENT) button to select a search option. You can select from "Track," "Group," "Artist," and "Album."

Select a track by using the Jog Dial to scroll through the list. Press the "(>ENT)" button to play the track that appears on the display.
Turn Off Beep Sound in Headphones

Press the "Nav/Menu" key to enter the main menu.

Select option for "Option -- Beep."

Turn the "Jog Dial" until "Beep Off" appears in the display.

Press the "(>ENT)" button to select the option and turn off the beep sound.
