Things You'll Need
- Wide-tooth comb
- Long-tail comb
- Bristle brush
- Hair dryer
- Hair friendly pony holder

Wash your hair. Add any leave-in conditioners while the hair is still wet. Apply mousse, hair straightener or any other desired hair care cocktails while hair is wet.

Towel dry the hair and smooth with a wide-tooth comb or fingers. Create a part in the hair that extends from the crown to the natural hairline. Use a long-tail comb to help create the part. Angle the part toward the ear where the ponytail will be set.

Blow dry the hair, using a hair dryer and a bristle brush. A round or flat brush is used, depending on preference.

Smooth the top of the hair in a center part. Sweep the hair to each side of the face while combing hair from the crown and back toward the back of the head.

Gather the hair behind one ear, using a comb or fingers. Redefine a part extending from the natural hairline to reach the ear opposite the ponytail.

Secure the hair with a hair-friendly hairband, such as a rubber-free hair wrap. Flip as much hair as possible over the shoulder to finish the look.
