How to Remove the Cache From Fireworks CS4 for Macs
Adobe Fireworks CS4 is software used to create impressive graphics for websites, interfaces and prototypes with the feature of working in both bitmap and vector modes. As of 2011, Adobe offers support and purchase of Fireworks CS5, which takes care of many of the known issues of CS4. For users who don't wish to pay the money, removing the cache may alleviate problems between software programs on the Mac and fix other error messages.

Double-click on the main hard drive image under the finder.

Find the house with the user's name and double-click on it.

Locate the Library folder and double-click it.

Find "Application Support" and click on the arrow to the left of it.

Click on "Adobe" and the subsequent "Adobe PCD."

In "User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache," drag the "cache.db" file to the trash bin.

In the Finder toolbar, select "Empty Trash."

Restart the computer.

Tips & Warnings
Once the computer is restarted after removing the cache, the user may be prompted to re-enter the software's serial number.
