How to Get a Grappling Hook in "Mercenaries 2"
"Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" is set in a wide-open world torn apart by war. When you play the game, you're a mercenary with no real allegiances. But you'll still need to recruit others to help keep you alive. A character named Eva will agree to help you if you complete a specific mission. Succeed on that mission and you will earn a grappling hook.

Drive to Eva's shop to begin the "Doom Patrol" mission. Her shop will appear as an icon in the central eastern area of Guanare after you complete the "Phone Tag" mission. Enter the marked building to begin.

Get into the monster truck located outside of Eva's shop. Drive the truck through the checkpoints as you go around the block. Follow the checkpoints down a dirt path and into a quarry.

Press "R1" for PlayStation 3 and "RB" for Xbox 360 to make your monster truck jump over any rocks, traps or obstacles on the dirt path. Drive through any enemies on foot in this area and ignore any other vehicles. Avoid damaging your vehicle as much as possible.

Continue driving until the checkpoints lead you back to Eva's shop. Park inside the garage in a marked circle, exit the vehicle and complete the mission. Eva will now join your group and the grappling hook will be available.
