How to Change the Drive Name in Windows 7
Windows 7 automatically labels drives with generic references, such as "Local Disk" or "Removable Disk," if a more specific name is not selected by you or the manufacturer. If you have several drives attached to your computer, these generic labels can be confusing. To recognize drives more easily, you can rename them with better descriptions. Labeling drives as "Downloads," "Windows" or "SanDisk 1GB" is much more informative than generic references.
