How to Edit Text on Skype
Sometimes you may send a Skype message, but then think better of it. Whether your message contained a simple typo you wish you could fix or angry words that you wish you could take back, you do have an option to fix the problem: if you sent your message within the past hour, Skype allows you to edit it. While the recipient can tell that you edited the message, she cannot view the unedited message.

1
Click on the contact to whom you sent a message you wish to edit in the panel on Skype's left side. This brings up your recent conversation history with this contact in the main portion of Skype.
-
2
Right-click the message you wish to edit. You must have sent this message within the past hour. The timestamp on the right side of the message reveals the exact time you sent it. When you right-click the message, a list of options appears.

3
Click "Edit Message" from the list of options. This highlights the message and copies it into the space where you compose messages to send to your contact.
-
4
Edit the message until it meets your satisfaction, then hit "Enter" to send the edited version. This does not appear as a new message; instead, it edits the original message.

Tips & Warnings
You can recognize an edited message by the pencil-shaped icon that appears to the right of its timestamp.
Delete a message by right-clicking it then selecting "Remove Message" rather than "Edit Message." This opens a window asking if you are sure you wish to remove the message. Click "Remove" in this window to permanently delete this message.
