How to Hide Your SSID on a D-Link

D-Link routers contain a "Visibility Status" option that lets you turn off SSID broadcasting.

Your service set identifier, or SSID, represents the name and identity of your wireless network. If you allow your router to broadcast it, you expose yourself to a world of vulnerabilities and holes you must quickly plug up. If you don't want to risk the exposure, configure your D-Link router to stop broadcasting the SSID. This also prevents other people from using your wireless Internet.
