How to Stop a Rabbit From Chewing Electrical Cords
If you keep a rabbit as your pet, in addition to providing essentials such as food, shelter and attention, you will need to keep your rabbit safe. These pets have a strong instinct to chew and electrical cords are an easy target. Preventing your rabbit from chewing on these cords is important because your pet can be burned or electrocuted if it chews through the wires.

1
Wrap any exposed electrical wires with spiral cable wrap, which can be purchased at electronics stores. This wrap is flexible, lightweight, and preferable for cords that need to be mobile, such as computer power cords.
-
2
Insert any exposed cords into a plastic cord concealer, which can be purchased at electronics stores. You will only need to do this if your rabbit is able to chew through the spiral cord wrap. This tends to look more organized and professional.

Cut a slit into the length of the PVC pipe using the hacksaw. Make the slit just wide enough to slip any exposed electrical cords through so that they are hidden inside the PVC pipe. You will only need to do this if your rabbit is able to chew through the spiral cable wrap or cord concealer. This is usually a last resort since it does not blend in as easily with typical household furniture and decor.

Tips & Warnings
Picking cords up off the floor does not always prevent your rabbit from chewing on them; rabbits are very agile and can climb on tables, couches and other places to reach elevated cords.
Many rabbits like bitter tastes, so using a chewing deterrent spray is not effective for most rabbits.
Never touch a severed or chewed electrical cord until you have turned off the power to the outlet being used, as you could electrocute or burn yourself.
