Salmon patties are a tasty way to incorporate protein into your diet. The patties are made with canned, flaked pink salmon, bread or cracker crumbs and a variety of savory seasonings. Customize the patties to your taste by adding herbs or fresh vegetables to the recipe. Although some recipes call for frying the salmon patties, baking them will yield the same crispy texture with less mess and fewer calories. Things You'll Need

  • 1 14.75-oz. can of flaked pink salon
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp. fresh chopped dill weed
  • 1 chopped yellow or white onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Nonstick baking sheet
  • Metal spatula

      Drain the can of salmon and transfer the contents to a medium mixing bowl. Remove any bones from the salmon. Break the salmon up with a fork. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Add the egg, seasoned breadcrumbs, chopped dill weed, onion, salt, black pepper and lemon juice to the salmon. Mix the ingredients together gently using a spoon.

      Use your hands to form the salmon mixture into eight same-size patties. Arrange the patties on a nonstick baking pan; allow a 1-inch space between each patty.

      Bake the patties in the oven for 30 minutes, or until they are golden brown on both sides. Flip the patties once with a metal spatula halfway through the baking process.
