How to Read a CSV File in Excel
A comma-separated value (CSV) file can be used to upload information to a database, or it can be created from a device or online application. Fields in a CSV file are separated by commas, and line breaks separate these fields into rows. CSV files can also be viewed in Microsoft Excel, where they are applied to the spreadsheet format that is native to Microsoft Excel. Windows can be configured so that it opens any CSV file in Excel by default.
