How to Make a Rag Wreath for the Bathroom
A rag wreath is a good way to decorate your bathroom using materials you already have on hand, such as remnants from sewing projects, worn clothing or old tablecloths. This is an inexpensive project that also lets you recycle fabric you might otherwise throw away. If you choose to purchase new materials for this craft, know that even the most inexpensive fabrics will look good together once formed into a wreath--don't break the bank. Gather fabric scraps, old clothes or tablecloths that match or complement your bathroom's colors. Visit discount or thrift stores to choose fabrics if you do not have a supply at home. The exact amount of fabric you need depends on the size of wreath frame you have and the width and length of the strips you cut. You need 1 1/2 yards of fabric to cover a 12-inch wreath form.

Cut the fabric into strips. Make the strips uniform widths for an even look in the final wreath, or use varying widths to make it rustic. Cut the narrowest strips at least 1/2 inch wide, and the widest 2 inches wide. If the fabric tears easily, snip the edge and rip the strips instead of cutting them; ripped edges give a wreath a country look.

Cut the strips into equal lengths. The length needed depends on the diameter of your wreath form and on how long you want the loose ends to hang off the front of your wreath as embellishment. Tie a 10-inch-long strip around the wreath form at one point. Note how long the free ends are. If you prefer longer or shorter ends, adjust the strip length accordingly.

Tie a strip around the wreath form and knot it firmly twice. Adjust it so that the knot faces the front of the wreath. Tie another strip next to the first one in the same way. Push it close to the first strip so their sides touch. Continue adding strips, knotting them twice on the front and pushing them close to the previous strip, until the entire wreath form is covered.

Pull out any ends that may be stuck under adjacent strips or knots. Fluff the ends to make the wreath look full and uniform. Trim off ends if you like to make the wreath look neater.

Cut a length of ribbon as a wreath hanger. Tie it around the top of the wreath and hide the knot in the fabric strips.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid cardboard wreath forms--they may become soggy in the humidity of a bathroom. Avoid foam wreath forms, which can crumble under the pressure of being worked with and make a mess.
Although any fabric will work, old vinyl tablecloths make good bathroom rag wreaths because they stand up well to damp environments.
Add buttons or silk flowers to the wreath with hot glue as an embellishment if you like.
