How do I Update Twitter From a Phone?
Twitter's short status updates are ideal for reading or sending with your mobile phone. You can set up Twitter on your phone, even if you cannot add applications, and post from your phone at any time. This allows you to keep up with your followers even if you are unable to access a computer.
Instructions

1
Log into your Twitter account on your computer, and click "Settings."
-
2
Click to load the "Mobile" settings tab.

3
Select your country or region and type your telephone number into the text box. If you want others to be able to search for you through your phone number, click the checkbox. Click the "Start" button.
-
4
Send a message from the phone associated with that number to "40404" containing the text "Go" to set up your account. Twitter will refresh (on your computer) and you will receive a text message in return, once your account is verified.
-
5
Choose which updates you want to receive through text and click the "Save" button.
-
6
Type the text that you want to appear in your Twitter post into the body of a text message and send this message to "40404." It will appear in your Twitter timeline as a message sent via text.

Tips & Warnings
You can specify if you want to receive texts whenever your followers update, when someone replies directly to you, or when someone sends you a direct message.
Twitter applications also exist for major phone software, including iPod, Android and Symbian. These do not use texts.
If you have limited text messaging on your cell plan, updating Twitter from your phone could cause you to go over the limit, and you will have to pay additional fees.
