How to Repair a Moen Faucet CAL84502

A Moen CAL84502 faucet is is called the Adler faucet. This is a bathroom or sink faucet with a single handle and it's one of Moen's popular models. The faucet wears out after regular use and sometimes requires repairs. This faucet has a cartridge inside the base that replaces in a single piece.       Turn the water valves underneath the sink off by rotating each one clockwise. This shuts off the water supply to the faucet.

      Remove the handle by taking out the plug in the front of the handle with a screwdriver. Unscrew the set screw under it with an Allen wrench and pull the handle off the base.

      Unscrew the dome, a round nut from the base of the faucet, with your hands. Unscrew the retaining nut under this part with a wrench or large pair of pliers.

      Lift the cartridge out of the faucet base by simply pulling on the stem, lifting it straight up from the body of the faucet. Insert the new one into the same place in the same position as the old one.

      Replace the retaining nut, dome and handle to rebuild the faucet. Turn on the water and operate the faucet. If a leak occurs, take off the handle and tighten the retaining nut. This tightens the seal between the faucet and cartridge, preventing leaks.
