Instructions

    • 1

Mix a flower dye packet according to the instructions on the packet. Remove the leaves of the rose and recut the stem with a sharp knife. Submerge the stem in the dye solution and allow the rose to absorb the dye. The petals will change color in 30 to 60 minutes. The longer they are in the solution, the darker they will get. Remove the rose from the solution, rinse and set in a vase with fresh water and flower food.

Pour flower dip into a container and dip the head of the rose in the dye for two seconds. Remove the flower, rinse under water and shake. Pour the remaining dye back into its original container. Let the rose air dry completely before handling, or the dye will transfer.

Spray floral paint onto the rose using smooth, even strokes. Spray the paint in a work area or outside; excess paint will spray the surroundings. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly before handling.
